I know most people couldn't care less, but this little monkey (and i call her that for a reason) talks more than some three year olds! So far, she can say (and identify) -

teeth (and can brush them)
hair (and can *almost* brush it)
socks (and can remove both)
feet (and yes, she can distinguish between the two)
banana (well... nana, but she knows what it is.)
cracker (and knows the difference)
blue (as in Blue's Clues)
bob (as in Spongebob)
bottle (which means both bottle and cup)
who's that?
what's that?
b-ball (meaning baseball)
mamaw (grandma)
e (granny)
hay-hay (haylie) (her cousin)
nick (her cousin)
mark (her uncle)
manny ( as in Handy Manny)
mickey (as in Mouse)
minnie (as in Mouse)
lucky (my brother's pitbull/boxer mix, who she adores)
jacob (her cousin)
thank you
shut (and likes to shut doors and everything else you'll let her)
and she can grunt like a monkey and climb on everything (hence the nickname). And she's starting to put words together... she'll say jacob go when she wants to go see him and go bye-bye and my apple. She hasn't *said* eat or drink yet, but she knows what they mean and will do both.

She can also say her alphabet from A-D and count to 2. It's also pretty funny to watch her sing... she can sing and do the hand movements for parts of itsy bitsy spider, pattycake, head shoulders knees and toes, and the alphabet song. And she sings to herself sometimes. It's cute.

Wow... I didn't realize how extensive her vocabulary was until I started to write it down.

Edit: I forgot num-num, cold, car, rain, baby, and oops, which is usually when she falls down. Oh and anmorata would probably appreciate the fact that she is convinced that fishies go Pook.

i'm debating on whether or not i want to daytrip Blackstone this year... i don't want to camp with a munchkin so little, but i think she might have fun.

[music |The Ramones - Pet Semetary]

it's nearly impossible to get through to the social security administration.

being sick blows goats.

i want meat and ice cream.

i have to go have friggin' bloodwork done on my way home.

some people should have child protective services called on them for the names they give their kids... Eutoka, X'xyavyon, Icy... almost as bad as Le'mon J'ello and Crystal Chanda Lear.

something in my office smells like baked ham with brown sugar and pineapple and cloves and it's making me hungry!!!

Kim Jong Il is ronery, so very ronery.

my daughter is a strange toddler... how many 18 month olds do you know that like hummus, tomato curry, and pesto?

bubbles will entertain small children and cats for *hours*.

syntax errors are irritating.

sebastian bach and vin diesel are hot.

people who drive below the speed limit for no good reason should be hanged by their toenails and flogged with splintery sticks.

scientology is a religion based on a failed science fiction novel. IT IS NOT A REAL RELIGION. germany and belgium even say so.

that's enough for right now, i think. and now i need to find food of some sort.

[music |Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in the background]

i will *never* completely give up red meat. it's just not gonna happen. i like my dead cow too much. HOWEVER, i have realized that vegan baked goods can be frighteningly good for you. there's this little co-op like two blocks from my house that has really cheap dried fruits and such and they also have prepackaged baked goods. the boi had requested these peanut butter hemp bars that he likes so much, and while looking for them, i saw these things... they're called california suncakes. they're these little round vegan... bricks, for lack of a better term. about the size of the bottom of a coffee mug and about an inch thick. they're denser than any energy bar you've ever had and a little on the dry side, but damn! one of those things is two servings, 178cal per serving, 8g of protein, and 5 grams of fiber PER SERVING. now i don't know about you, but that sounds like a pretty damn good breakfast to me, especially at $1.75. and they have them in apricot, raisin, cranberry, poppy seed, and probably a couple of others i missed. the cranberry's pretty good... kinda reminiscent of a cranberry orange scone. i'll have to try the poppy seed and the apricot next.

stay tuned as i may or may not continue my reviews of the strangeness that is organic and or vegan foodstuffs... which may just happen, because i've got organic pesto pasta and organic australian yogurt in the fridge. i will however, sing the praises of free range meat... it has more flavor.

btw, tofu sour cream is probably *the* most repulsive foodstuff i've yet to come across. second to that, plain soy milk.

"Reply and I'll give you a letter and you have to find ten songs that start with that letter and post them to your journal. Try to come up with a list without googling & looking through your collection first."

2-Dawnrazor - Fields of the Nephilim
3-Desert Rose - Sting w/Cheb Mami
4-Devil Girl - Tiger Army
5-Diamond Mind - Rasputina
6-Deathly - Aimee Mann
7-Darling Nikki - Prince

[music |Land of the Dead in the background]

upon watching Land of the Dead again today, it occurred to me that there is something inherently creepy about zombies who retain some sense of who or what they were. for instance, the intro to LotD where the zombie band is standing in the gazebo, attempting to still play their instruments. or the zombie cheerleader still gripping her pompoms. or the main zombie still trying to pump gas. that's just creepy... even dead, they drag along, trying to be what they once were, but failing miserably. *shudder*

and zombies that are capable of learning and reasoning scare the shit out of me. zombies should not be able to learn how to use automatic weapons. and zombies that *realize* they're dead and that normally fatal actions won't hurt them... meep!

yeah, i know i'm weird. things that would make most people want to puke don't really bother me. i'm easily startled, but not easily scared. but damn... smart zombies creep me out.

[music |Ratt - Round and Round]

recently, mostly thanks to the boi, i've rediscovered my love of hair metal. *giggle* i've also reestablished the fact that boys with big hair and good makeup and tight pants make me weak in the knees. ;-) oh, and we have tickets to see Cinderella and Poison next month. hehe. i used to be so in love with Bret Michaels, but now that i think back, Tom Keifer was too damn hot.... i think it's those big pouty lips. that would make sense, because the boi has those too. ;-)

[music |Eddie Izzard - Glorious]

some people believe that the last three popes (John Paul I and II, as well as Benedict XVI) are not actually popes, because all three of them, because they did not have coronation ceremonies, did not take the Papal Oath, aka the oath against modernism.

in 1978, there were three popes.

a bit of irony - pope innocent VIII appointed Torquemada.

according to present day church law, it's possible for a married man to be elected to the papacy.

the queen of england turns 80 this month. she's getting old. and as eddie izzard said, she's not going anywhere! she's aiming for victoria's record... she wants to reign for *two thousand years*!

prince phillip is a nutter.

queen elizabeth II was actually part of the royal army before she took the throne.

prince charles has way too damn many names... his whole given name is Charles Philip Arthur George Mountbatten-Windsor.

the queen mother queen elizabeth I was almost a hundred and two when she died... she reigned for 50 years and adolf hitler called her the most dangerous woman in europe.

attributed to the queen mother - She employed a personal staff with many gay persons and once said, after her gin and tonic was continuously delayed by backstairs bickering, "When one of you young queens has finished, can you bring this old Queen a drink?"

it's interesting to note that Mother Teresa... no, Blessed Teresa, to accurate, had a LOT of critics - mostly disenfranchised former nuns and doctors who said her methods of running hospices and hospitals left a LOT to be desired.

ok, i think that's enough random info for the night... and now, sleep.

[music |Suburbia in the background]

Regardless of differing tastes in music, why don't you take this opportunity to tell me about 5 CD's I really need to hear.

I'll tell you about 5 I think YOU should have in your collection. Afterwards, I would like you to forward this to someone who is NOT on our "mutual" friends listing, so it can grow.

CD's I think you need. (Some of these will be obvious)

1) The Dresden Dolls - The Dresden Dolls

Because it's warped and weird and describes life all too well sometimes.

2) Tiger Army - Tiger Army III: Ghost Tigers Rise

Two reasons - Ghostfire and Rose of the Devil's Garden. Psychobilly at its best.

3) Dead Kennedys - Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death

because it's angry and snarky and smartass-ish.

4) Enya - Memory of Trees

because it's just plain beautiful. i swear this woman's voice haunts me....

5) Loreena McKennitt - The Visit

because pretty much every song on this cd can and will bring me to tears... it's just beautiful.

ooh... this is annoying. ok. my phone's out of commission until friday because i have a spending limit on my account of $125 and my account balance, after they billed for august, is $125.91. they shut my phone off over ninty one cents. fuckers. get my electric bill for july... ouch. $140. damn this heat... but i'm sure as hell *not* turning the a/c off. i'd never get any sleep. and i can't get any money out of the book for my stat class... namely because they decided to use 5th edition starting next quarter. fuuuuuck. i really could have used that $40. oh well. money sucks. or rather, not having it sucks.

oh, and i need to remember not to drink straight cranberry juice anymore... it makes my throat hurt. a lot.
